Line copper
Almost no one locks it in a vault. Everyone notices when it is gone.
“The distance between two lights.”
Nothing wasted
Copper is recovered from lower-grade seams and stripped from machinery too damaged to repair. Salvage crews keep records of every recovered coil because an unknown alloy can fail under load. A clean length of line copper is ordinary only to someone who has never had to find one.
The metal between things
Gold can sit. Copper has work to do. It joins the turbines to the refinery and the refinery to the Archive. In the wider game concept, it supports infrastructure upgrades rather than personal reserve totals.
In a shift
Copper is spent, never banked: every belt you extend and every fence you power runs on it. It is the quiet reason a wide, ambitious line collapses — you can afford the buildings and not the distance between them.
